Only 100 days to go until the National Games Berlin 2022

We can’t wait: In just 100 days, the starting signal will be given for the Special Olympics National Games Berlin 2022.

We want to use this occasion to bring you up to date and give you exciting insights behind the scenes.

 

Did you know?

The Special Olympics National Games are Germany's largest inclusive sporting event in 2022 and will take place from 19 to 24 June under the motto #UnbeatableTogether. Around 4,000 athletes and Unified Partners will compete in the official competitions.

We will host a total of 20 sports. The largest sport is football with more than 800 participants, followed by athletics (700) and swimming (560). Many of these sports are Unified Sports® - competitions for teams of athletes with and without disabilities.

Contrary to the name, the National Games will not only be attended by German athletes. We are looking forward to welcoming 13 international delegations.

By the way: For the national athletes, the participation is a requirement for a possible nomination to the Special Olympics World Games 2023 in Berlin.

 

Last chance for volunteers

A last call for all those who have not made up their minds yet: The deadline to apply as a volunteer at the National Games is 25 March 2022.

Fans in the Stands

Our Fans in the Stands program is a free participation program for our competitions. It brings you and your Fan Team up close to the action. Groups of 10 or more people belonging to an organization such as a club can sign up.

Special Olympics Festival

The Special Olympics Festival offers a colorful stage program and many activities for all age groups. Throughout the entire event, we invite you to celebrate an inclusive festival together around Neptunbrunnen next to Alexanderplatz.
