Our logo and claim are cheerful and unifying

Graphic consisting of logo elements

The logo and claim of the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 were ceremoniously unveiled. The logo is cheerful, colorful, vibrant and unifying and tells a very special story. We are proud to present the world: a logo that breaks down walls.

The new logo expresses what athletes and visitors of the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 can expect: a colorful and joint celebration of inclusion with the claim #UnbeatableTogether.

The logo is based on world-famous Berlin landmarks such as the Brandenburg Gate, the Berlin TV Tower and elements of the Berlin Wall, as well as on ideas from our athletes.

By athletes, for athletes

"It was extremely important to include the emotions and suggestions of our athletes. It is their logo," says Anne Homann, LOC director of marketing and communications.
In many hours of digital workshops, Special Olympics athletes from all over the world contributed their ideas and feelings and helped develop the logo's world of colors and symbols.

"It's about changing the world with ease and joy. That's exactly what our logo conveys," adds Melissa Lukowski, creative director of the LOC.

Instead of an attended event, a digital version was held in a studio of SKY Deutschland due to the pandemic situation. This did not diminish the festivity and joy. On the contrary, Stefanie Scherer, athlete of Special Olympics Bavaria, was happy: "The logo is beautiful and the claim represents the ideas of the athletes very well."
