It is Day 2 of the National Games and we are looking forward to the first finals, Unified Kata Competitions in judo, our cooperation with the Fête de la Musique and more. An overview of the day's highlights can be found here.

  • In 10 out of 20 sports we have the first finals today.
  • The Unified Kata Competitions in judo take place at Messe Berlin.
  • Many artists of the Fête de la Musique perform on the stage of the Special Olympics Festival today.
  • The accompanying families are invited to the reception at the Zoo Berlin.

Athletics, bowling, cycling, equestrian, judo, kayaking, open water swimming, powerlifting, roller skating and swimming - what do these sports have in common? The first finals take place here today!

Especially interesting are the Unified Kata Competitions in judo. Unified Sports® brings together athletes with an intellectual disabilities and Unified partners without intellectual disabilities in one team.

In Unified Kata, the team practices throwing techniques and forms together during training. On site at the competition, the rehearsed is presented and evaluated with points. It is very nice to watch and underlines that Special Olympics is not primarily about winning, but about togetherness. A visit is definitely recommended.

Additionally, today's Special Olympics Festival is dedicated to our cooperation with the Fête de la Musique. Various artists are performing on the cultural stage from 14:00 onwards. The complete program is available here.

In the evening, we host a highlight event for the families of our athletes: We are happy to invite them to our reception at Zoo Berlin and we look forward to a nice evening with 200 international guests and a total of 800 participants.

For last-minute visitors, tickets are still available for purchase online or on site at our competition venues.
