The second day of competition once again offered numerous highlights - this time under the best conditions on land and on the water.

In almost all sports, final competitions have already taken place today. Cheers, shouts of joy and a teardrop here and there - from the Olympic Park to Grünau, athletes and families gave free rein to their feelings.

It's great to see that the efforts of our athletes are also getting the stage they deserve on German television. If you can't make it to Berlin for one of the competitions, you can follow the Special Olympics every evening from 7 p.m. on Sky Deutschland. ARD/ZDF and RBB also report daily on the most inclusive and heartfelt event of the year.

The Governing Mayor of Berlin, Franziska Giffey, also stopped by today and was visibly impressed by the athletes' performances and the commitment of all the volunteers: "I would like to thank once again the many volunteers who work all day not only here at the Olympic Stadium, but throughout the city. I see that also in front of my door at the Red City Hall.
